Wait on the Lord!

Ever feel hopeless?  Like things are just not happening the way you thought they would?  What about fearful?  That things will not (or will) happen the way you want them to?  Well, I have certainly felt like that from time to time.  Especially recently transitioning from working outside the home to “working” in the home.  Not to mention that I’ll be turning 40 in the next couple of years.  But I do hold on to one thing, and that is my faith in God.  One of my favorite scriptures is Isaiah 40.  It talks about waiting on the Lord, and what how he will strengthen you in your heart and soul.  It gives me confidence when I feel I have none.  It gives me hope when I feel I have none.  I just wanted to share it with you and hope that on those days when you may be feeling like you’re running on empty, that this can fill you up.  Bless you!  “But they that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint!”

‘In God’s own time’ is my mantra which is a paraphrase of ‘wait on the Lord’. As I approach my 70th year in a few months I embrace my mantra, but at one time they were just words my mother always said to me. When I tell my children to ‘wait on the Lord’ I smile because I know how God works in our lives without us even knowing, just as He knocked Saul off his horse on the road to Demascus. God Bless you and be hopeful!

  3. Just sharing what I believe! Hope it is of some use to you…

  4. God does work in our lives without us knowing, sometimes in mysterious ways, sometimes in blatantly obvious ways! We’ve got to be open to God’s movements in our lives. I certainly will try to continue to be hopeful! Thanks!
