#8: Healing Takes Time!
When I first started taking medication for my depression I totally expected there to be a dramatic transformation. I expected to feel differently immediately! I was sorely disappointed to find out that an adequate trial period for a medication, for a response or return to functioning, was approximately 4-6 weeks!!
I learned that healing takes time. Not only does the prescription medicine take a period of time to work in your body and brain, but effective psychotherapy and making lifestyle changes which positively affect your mental health condition and lead you on a path to healing, takes time to embrace and implement.
Be Patient. Trust the Treatment. Don’t Give Up!
