Dr. Beth-Sarah Wright

It’s All Good!

My mother and I have a little saying between us.  She says she is quoting me when she says “It’s all good.” And we smile knowingly with each other completely understanding what that means for us.

As I think about it, I used to say those same words as a way to actually erase what I was feeling…a lie really.  It was a way to say “I’m fine”, the same ubiquitous lie told in churches and schools and workplaces everyday, masking the reality of people’s lives.

But it means something so different now.  Instead of a monotonous dismissive phrase it is an AFFIRMATION, a CONFIRMATION and EXCLAMATION of knowing that no matter what happens, no matter where we are or what we feel, no matter what we are going through,  it truly is ALL GOOD.  All a part of this wonderful adventure, this faith journey called life.

I am so grateful for it ALL.  So grateful for the opportunities not failures, for the possibility and potential not prisons; for endurance, for forgiveness, for second chances,  for healing, hope and joy eternal!

On this New Year’s Eve I continue to be thankful for all the new year’s eve excitement present in each and every day, divinely given.  So thankful for our many new beginnings and the overwhelming grace and mercy always available and bestowed on us by the Excellent One who continues to be mindful of us and who will always take a second look our way.

Happy New Year…It’s All good!

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19.

It is five minutes to one o’clock in the New Year ai I write this to join you and your mother who is fast asleep now, but who stayed awake to usher in the New Year, in saying “it is all good”. My prayer is that 2015 will be all good for us all despite the challenge and that you wii continue to inspire us with your thoughts reduced to words.

It is clear that it was early in the morning when I wrote that post above. I apologise for the errors.

  3. Dearest Beth Sarah,
Your life and your writings continue to inspire me!
My son died in his sleep Monday night, and still I can say, “It is All Good!”
Kevin is now at peace and out of the extreme suffering he has gone through.
As He did with Joseph, God takes the most tragic things and “turns them into good”.
I am reading part of your post at Kevin’s Memorial Service at St. Aidan’s on Saturday afternoon.
You can go to the Facebook page, Remembering Kevin Kiser, to see how very loved Kevin is.
May God continue to bless you, dear friend.
    Love, Harmony Kiser

Thanks, Beth, for the beautiful words of encouragement and inspiration. I do hope 2015 will be “all good” for you and your love ones.

  5. Dear Harmony,
I am so sorry to hear about your son. It is heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for your example and your strength in the midst of such sadness. I went to Kevin’s Facebook page and it is abundantly clear the light he shines in the world and just how much he continues to impact people’s lives. What a testimony to his life. God has been with you, is with you and will continue to be with you especially this Saturday and in the days and years to come. May Kevin rest in joy and peace eternal!

  6. Thank you Daddy. And thank you for your wonderful prayer for 2015. God has blessed you and Miss Babs, is blessing you both and will continue to bless you in the days and years to come. Love you both, Beth

  7. Thank you! Abundant blessings to you this new year!
