Just finished filming a video on “Suicide Prevention” with these fine young men who have the fire in their belly to spread messages of healing and wholeness to all. They are members of a grassroots organization, Lutheran Suicide Prevention Ministry. It’s a beautiful thing when faith and clinical depression are in the same conversation. We just need more voices!

God, no matter the name you call God, promises us abundant lives, whole lives, joyful lives.

There is a difference between having the blues and having the mental illness, clinical depression.

And depression does not discriminate- men, women, young or old, black, white, pink or blue; Jeewish, Buddhist, Christian or Muslim; depression has equal opportunity.

It is important for faith communities to know that and to say that prayer is wonderful but sometimes the answer to prayer can be “go get help”, “see a doctor” or “take your medication”.

Help, Healing and Hope are always available!
