Purpose in Faith…Joy!
Day 15. #pilgrimagetojoy
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1-17
For the past two meditations I’ve been focusing on purpose with work and in our lives. Today, as the concerns about the coronavirus rise and it is now been officially named a global pandemic, I reflect on my purpose as a believer in God, a follower of Christ.
Central to that purpose is to have faith, even the size of a mustard seed. But faith with work. A sacred partnership that believes that God can make gold our of garbage and ‘silk of out of scar tissue’, all in partnership with us living into our purpose, our strengths our gifts. Using our minds, our skill our reason. This God creates wonderful reversals, where teenagers conquer giants, a newborn can change the world world and a young woman can discover such inner courage, choose not to remain silent and deliver her whole people… for such a time as this.
This gives me joy! Even in the whirlwind of emotions that swirl right now. God works through health experts and effective guidelines and sensible precautions. Let’s partner in faith and work. It is a sacred partnership after all, thanks be to God!
