What do we do with the disappointment?
High school and college seniors are facing a totally unexpected and certainly disappointing senior year. The Summer Olympics may be postponed. I can’t imagine the disappointment athletes must be feeling after years of training and anticipation and hope.
My daughter is heartbroken she will be finishing her freshman year at NYU at home. She just got accepted into a fabulous theater program in India for the summer which will probably be postponed until next year and she is devastated. My son at boarding school is so sad he is missing out on his boarding experience which he absolutely LOVES having chosen this path 3 years ago.
So what do with this unavoidable disappointment in the times of COVID-19? What do we do with any heart wrenching disappointment?
We pause. We grieve. We pivot. We look for opportunity. We seek out learning. We don’t lose hope.
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!

Day 27 #pilgrimagetojoy
You are wonderful! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this because I believe we’re all grieving something…. I know I am! I am still grieving the loss of my fur babies! They brought such joy to my life and especially in the times we’re in, they would be such a joy to have right now. But, God IS good. I know I will get through this and I’ll get my joy back. Thank you! Love and God bless!
