Dr. Beth-Sarah Wright

A little care package

This is what God does. God gives God’s best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless.

Matthew 5:45

What happens when you gather a bunch of silly puzzles, boxes of Cracker Jacks, all sorts of candy, word puzzles and even some slime–a little corona care package? You get two hours of uninterrupted laughter, togetherness and reconnection even if they are in college and high school- more likely to be occupied with remote learning at rather odd hours and proclivities to further self-isolate in their individual headphone musical worlds.

I’m so grateful for a couple of hours of distraction…for them, for me.

My heart is warmed.

In the not too far background however, I hear the emotional testimony of the nurse who has not hugged her 4 year old daughter for weeks as she fervently protects her family and serves the sick and dying.

My heart is broken.

God is with us all.
